Helen Gory is a Melbourne-based artist and curator. Working across various mediums including collage, mixed media, painting and drawing, her work displays an ongoing fascination with the interior worlds of women; it is at once deeply personal and universal.
Helen was also the founder and director of renowned Helen Gory Galerie, where she championed the work of local emerging artists for close to two decades before trading the white walls in for a studio. She has since had solo exhibitions at Backwoods Gallery (2018), Chapman & Bailey (2017) and JCP Studios (2014), and her work has appeared in various group shows in Melbourne and New York City.
"Helen Gory's art pivots upon its connections. Its power lies in its links. Her images seem to unspool and reveal an almost filmic flow of associations." - Ken Wach, Associate Professor, University of Melbourne 2017.
